Paneer Jalfrezi | Family Food Tales with Mrs Alyona Kapoor | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A quick stir fry of peppers and paneer. Crunchy and yummy in every bite.

PANEER JALFRESI

Ingredients

400 grams cottage cheese, cut into cubes
2 tablespoons oil
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 inch ginger, cut into juliennes
3-4 dried red chillies
1 medium onion, cut into squares
1 medium green capsicum, cut into squares
1 medium yellow capsicum, cut into squares
1 medium red capsicum, cut into squares
Salt to taste
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
2 teaspoons garam masala powder

Method

1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds, and once they begin to change colour, add ginger, red chillies and sauté well. Add onions and sauté for a minute.
2. Add green capsicum, yellow capsicum and red capsicum, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Add salt and turmeric powder, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add vinegar and mix well. Add cottage cheese, mix well and cook for a minute.
5. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Add garam masala powder and mix well.
6. Serve immediately.
