Toovar dal has a knack of combining well with greens, providing the right mushiness without becoming gooey. Here, palak and toovar dal come together, smartly pressure-cooked and hand-blended to the right consistency. A couple of whole spices added as a tempering impart a fresh aroma and irresistible flavour to the Palak Toovar Dal.

Ingredients:
Spinach (Palak) - 1 cup
Toor dal (boiled) - 1 1/2 cup
Onion chopped - 1 nos
Tomato chopped - 1 1/2 tbsp
Green chilli - 1 nos
Curry leaves - 10-20 nos
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Hing - 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste -
Turmeric - 1 tsp
coriander powder - 1 tbsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Wate - as required
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tbsp

Method:
Heat oil in a pan,add cumin seeds, green chilli curry leaves, hing, chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, Turmeric, coriander, red chilli powder ,salt and chopped spinach, saute for a while and cook for about 5-7 minutes
2) Now add boiled toor dal, garam masala, water and bring to boil over medium heat, put it in a bowl and serve hot
