This video shows how to make nandu gravy in tamil. This is a spicy nandu fry done with spicy crab masala also called as nandu varuval in tamil. Crab gravy or nandu masala in tamil is a traditional sea food. This nandu masala recipe is used to cure common cold. This video clearly shows how to cook crab masala recipe in tamil.


Following are the ingredients to make Spicy nandu masala.

1/2 kg crab washed and clean.

3 Big onions chopped and grind into a semi paste.

1 Tomato chopped finely.

1 tbl spoon coriander powder.

1 tbl spoon pepper powder.

1 tbl spoon fennel powder.

1 tbl spoon ginger garlic paste.

Few curry leaves and coriander leaves.

1 tbl spoon red chili powder.

1 tbl spoon cumin powder.

1/4 tbl spoon turmeric powder.

Salt as needed.

Oil as needed.

Let's see how to make it.

Step 1: Heat a pan and add oil. Once hot, add fennel powder and allowed to splutter.

Step 2: Add pureed onions and saute till they turn golden

Step 3: Add ginger garlic paste and saute for an minute.

Step 4: Add curry and coriander leaves and saute well.

Step 5: Add tomatoes and saute until it turns mushy.

Step 6: Now it's time to add the crabs.

Step 7: Now add red chilli powder, pepper powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt as needed.

Step 8: Add little water to it and let it boil. Crab doesn't take longer time to cook. Once it
become water less, spicy crab pepper fry is ready to be served.
