Mutton Channa Aloo Biryani | Vahchef - VahRehVah

Mutton Chana Aloo Biryani
INGREDIENTS:
Oil - As Required
Cashew nuts - 10 nos.
Potatoes - 2 nos.
Mutton - 500 gms
Bay leaf - 2 nos.
Black cardamom - 2 nos.
Green cardamom - 2 nos.
Cloves - 3 nos.
Star anise - 2 nos.
Shahi jeera - 1 tsp
Onions - 2 nos.
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Mint leaves - 1 Bunch
Yogurt - 1 cup
Tomatoes - 2 nos.
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Water - As Required
Chickpeas - 100 gms
DIRECTIONS:
Heat oil in a pan, fry cashew nuts and transfer into a plate.
In the same oil, add potatoes fry it and transfer into a plate.
In the same oil, add mutton pieces fry till they turn light brown.
Then add bay leaf, black cardamom, green cardamom, cloves, star anise, shahi jeera, onions, ginger garlic paste & cook it until all the raw flavour is gone.
Now add mint leaves, yogurt, tomatoes, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, water, soaked chickpeas cook it for 4-5 whistles close the lid.
Then add potato pieces, soaked basmati rice, water, and add garam masala powder, green chillies, coriander leaves, salt, saffron cook it for one whistle with the lid closed.
At last, add some ghee, mix it once & close the lid and rest it for 10 minutes.
