MULLED WINE

Ingredients

1 lemon
1 orange
375ml red wine
12-15 black peppercorns
3-4 cloves
1 star anise
1 inch cinnamon stick
A small piece of nutmeg
2 tbsps brown sugar

Method

1. Peel the lemon and thickly slice the orange.
2. Heat the wine in a non-stick pan. Add black peppercorns, cloves, star anise, cinnamon stick, orange slices, lemon slices, grate the nutmeg into it and stir in the brown sugar. Cook till the mixture comes to a boil and continue to cook for 4-5 minutes.
3. Strain the drink into individual serving glasses and serve warm.
