RECIPE:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 stick (4 ounches) unsalted butter, room temperature
1/4 cup solid vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
5 large egg whites
3/4 cup whole milk
