Your favourite makhanas get the sweetest makeover. Makhanas tossed in caramelized sugar and served to satiate your sweet tooth.

MISHTI MAKHANA

Ingredients

200 grams puffed lotus seeds (makhana)
1 tbsp ghee
½ cup sugar
¼ tsp green cardamom powder
¼ tsp fennel powder

Method

1. Heat ghee in a kadai. Add the makhana and sauté on medium heat for 5-6 minutes or till crisp. Transfer in a plate and set aside.
2. Heat a kadai. Add sugar, 2 tbsps water and cook till sugar caramelizes.
3. Add green cardamom powder, fennel powder and mix well.
4. Add makhana and mix well.
5. Transfer in a plate and allow to cool. Serve.
