100g chana dal (split bengal gram) (soaked for 1 hour and ground into a paste)
1 onion
½ tsp turmeric
Salt to taste
1 tsp chana dal
1 tbsp coriander
1 tbsp curry leaves
Spice mix (1 tsp ginger, 2 red chillies & fennel coarsely ground)
Oil for frying
Water
