Soft, buttery and flaky Scones with a finger-lickin' Maple Glaze.The best scones you'll ever make at home! Have them hot with maple flavoured glazeIngredients1¾ cup refined flour (maida)½ cup whole wheat flour (atta)1 tsp baking powder1 tsp salt½ cup oats + to sprinkle200 gms cold butter¼ cup buttermilk¼ cup maple syrup2 eggs½ cup chopped walnutsGlaze¼ cup icing sugar½ tsp maple essenceMethod1. Preheat oven to 200° C.2. Sift refined flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Add oats and butter and mix with your fingertips till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.3. Add buttermilk, maple syrup and 1 egg and mix. Add walnuts and mix and knead into a dough. 4. Sprinkle some dry flour on table top, put the dough over it and roll into around ¾ inch thick disc.5. Cut the disc into 6 triangles and arrange the in a non-stick cake tin.6. Break the remaining egg into a bowl and whisk. Brush the dough triangles with this egg. Sprinkle a little oats and keep the tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. 7. Take the tin out and let the scones cool slightly.8. For the glaze cook icing sugar with little water and maple essence stirring till the sugar melts.9.
