Lets make Teriyaki Chicken Skewers

I love making this Teriyaki sauce because a lot of times, the store bought teriyaki glaze includes a lot of ingredients that arent necessary or good for us.

Instead of brown sugar, I use coconut sugar for a cleaner and even tastier option! Recipe below

Ingredients
2 lb Chicken
2 cloves Garlic
Black Sesame Seeds
1 Green onion chopped
Teriyaki Sauce
1 tbsp Honey
1/3 cup Soy sauce
1/3 cup Coconut sugar
2 tbsp Cornstarch
1 tbsp Rice vinegar
1/2 tsp Sesame oil
1 cup Water
3 cups rice

Optional:
Broccoli
Green Beans

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, mix together your teriyaki ingredients and simmer on low for 6-10 minutes, until the sauce becomes more of a thick consistency.

Remove it from the heat and set it to the side.

Chop your chicken breasts and place into a medium size mixing bowl.

Pour over the Teriyaki sauce and mix together. (You can leave a little bit of sauce if you choose to cook vegetables with this meal).

Place the chicken on the skewers and cook on the grill at 350 for 12 minutes.

Once they have finished cooking, remove them from the grill and set aside to cool.

Cook your rice according to the box instructions.

If you chose to cook broccoli and green beans, steam them in a large skillet with the remainder of the teriyaki sauce.

Distribute everything into the meal prep containers *you may have to cut the skewers to fit your container.

Garnish with the chopped green onion and sesame seeds.
