Legendary Changi Nasi Lemak Challenge! Curry with Nasi Lemak! Singapore Street Food Mukbang!

In this video, I headed down to Changi Nasi Lemak at Bukit Batok to try their famous Nasi Lemak! Unfortunately, I was not able to film there so I got many portions to go, together with some curry from the stall beside it named "Gorilla Curry". Nasi Lemak is a Southeast Asian dish made with a base of coconut and pandan flavoured rice, served with compulsory sambal (chilli paste) and a wide variety of sides depending on the restaurant. This version of Nasi Lemak is the Singaporean Chinese style, which offers different types of sides from the Singaporean Malay style, like pork belly and the imitation McSpicy cutlet.

They generously provided me large helpings of their entire menu, which I then plated on top of banana leaves and my enormous plate. This included deeply fragrant coconut rice, slightly sweet and spicy sambal, freshly sliced cucumbers, fried peanuts, fried anchovies and fried eggs, all of which form the base of most nasi lemaks. This was followed by the protein, with large chicken drumsticks cooked in curry, imitation McSpicy cutlets, braised pork belly, fried chicken wings, Mala fried fish and fried chicken pieces. I finished it all with a generous pour of Gorilla curry, which is an extremely delicious coconut curry.

The rather rich doubling-up of coconut flavours from the rice and curry, together with the mostly fried nature of the sides, made it slightly difficult to complete as flavour fatigue set in quickly. However, as a single portion, picking your favourite protein with a drizzle of the curry and generous helpings of the sambal is sure to be a winning decadent treat.
