LEEK WITH OLIVE OIL

FULL RECIPE FOR LEEK WITH OLIVE OIL
Ingredients

6 leeks with long body
2 big carrots
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp rice
2 tsp salt
3 tbsp olive oil
2 cups water

Directions:
Wash and peel the carrots, cut off the both ends and chop the rest of carrots into 0.5 cm thick rounds
Wash the leeks, cut off the roots and chop the body into 2 cm thick rounds
There could be dirt stuck in the creases where green leaves separate from the body; check carefully, rewash or do not use these parts
For cooking, set a shallow pot
To maintain the form of the leeks, do not stir with a spoon while cooking
So, it is best to distribute the vegetables evenly as you place them into cooking pot
Once vegetables placed to the pot add salt, sugar, olive oil and water
Place the pot on the stove at medium heat, cover the lid.
Heat until the mixture starts to boil
Then, add the washed rice and set a very low heat for cooking an hour slowly
Once, vegetables and rice become tender, turn off the stove and let it cool down to room temperature
Leek with olive oil is recommended a a cold dish; at room temperature or refrigerated
The original flavor is on the sweeter side, adding fresh lemon juice gives to dish a delicate sweet-sour flavour
