So watch my video pleasehttps://sujankitchen.wordpress.com/2022/11/03/lauki-chana-dal/Ingredients:Small bottle gourd/Lauki - 1Chana dal - 1 cup or 200 gmsOnion medium- 2Tomatoes - 4Green chillies - 2Ginger - 1 inchDry red chillies - 2 or 3Bay leaves - 2Asaefotida- tspCumin seeds - 1 tspDhaniya powder - 2 tspsJeera powder - 1 tspRed chilli powder - 1 tsp or to tasteTurmeric powder - tspKasoori methi - 2 tspGhee - 1 tbspOil - 1 tbspKitchen king masala - 1 tspSalt to tasteCoriander leaves to garnishMethod:Soak the chana dal for at least 1 hour after thoroughly washing it in running waterMeanwhile peel the Lauki/bottle gourd Chop them as desiredPressure cook the chopped Lauki & dal adding little of turmeric, red chilli powder & salt3 whistles or 15 mins pressure cooking is what we need - each cooker may be different Now, chop the onions finelyGrind the tomatoes together with the green chillies & gingerIn a small bowl, add coriander powder, jeera powder,turmeric, red chilli powder, asaefotida & kasoori methiAdding few tsps of water to make thin smooth pasteKeep the spice mix asaefotida asideHeat a oil & ghee in a thick panAdd the bay leavesAdd the dry red chilliesNow add the jeeraWhen jeera crackles add the onionsStir fry over medium flame till the onions are goldenNow add the spice mix pasteSaut well over medium flameThen, add the tomato ground mixStir fry well closing the pan over medium flame Open to see that the oil has separated Its now time to add the cooked Lauki DalKeep mixing everything well together Add 1 tsp of jaggery and mixClose & cook for few minutes over medium flameOpen and add kitchen king masala or garam masala Cook for few more minsGarnish with coriander leavesEnjoy Lauki Chana Dal with Phulkas or Rotis
