Pakoda and chai are buddies forever and this super crispy pakoda made with grated potatoes and gram flour is going to be a go-to in your snack time. Feel the crunch at every bite.

LACHCHA ALOO PAKODA

Ingredients

4 medium wafer potatoes, peeled
2 tbsps rice flour
1½ tbsps corn flour
1 tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
½ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1 cup gram flour (besan)
Oil for deep frying
Green chutney to serve
Tomato ketchup to serve

Method

1. Thickly grate the wafer potatoes and transfer it into a large bowl filled with water. Rinse it thoroughly. Drain the grated potatoes and add into another large bowl.
2. Add rice flour, corn flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, carom seeds and gram flour and mix till well combined.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in small portions of the mixture into the hot oil and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
4. Serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
