Khekda Bhaji Onion Pakoda Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Don't be surprised by the name, these Khelda Bhaji are vegetarian! Made by frying onions tossed in a tasty mixture. Make these crispy fritters today!

KHEKDA BHAJI

Ingredients

3-4 medium onions
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chilli powder
tsp turmeric powder
2 green chillies, chopped
1 cup gram flour (besan)
cup rice flour
Oil for deep frying
Green chutney to serve

Method

1. Thinly slice the onions and transfer into a large bowl. Add salt and mix well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, green chillies and mix well. Add gram flour, rice flour and mix till well combined.
2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Add small portions of the mixture into the hot oil and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
3. Serve hot with green chutney.
