Holi marks the festival of colours in our country and whenever a festivity enters the shores of India..its often greeted with delightful bunch of sweets.....
And the culture of West Bengal is no different when it comes to making variety of fried sweets to celebrate the vibrant love of colours.
Malpua is a signature dish and a pure tradition of West Bengal and the order of simplicity needed to make this dish is in accord with the simple yet dazzling beauty of Holi

INGREDIENTS:
Ingredients for 8 to 10 malpuas as per size you make.

I Cup = 250ml

Maida/All purpose flour-3/4 cup
Black cardamon/Boro alaj -2 nos
Fennel/Mouri/Saunf-1/2 tsp
Milk- 1 Cup + 2 Tsp
Water - 2 Cups
Sugar- 1 Cup
Mawa/Khoya kheer - 100gm
White oil + 2 Tsp ghee - For frying
Additional 1 Tsp milk used to clean the sugar syrup.
