An amazingly light, crunchy sweet and sour snack that you can make from varied flours. Perfect for tea time or as a dry snack to carry on short travels. KHATTI MEETHI CHOLAFALIIngredients cup black eyed peas flour (chowli ka atta)1 cup gram flour cup split skinless black gram flour (dhuli urad dal ka atta) tsp papad kharSalt to taste1 tbsps oil + for drizzling + for deep fryingSpice mix1 tsps red chilli powder tsp chaat masalaSalt to taste1 tsp powdered sugar Method1. Combine gram flour, black eyes peas flour, split skinless black gram flour, papad khar, salt, and 1 tbsp oil in a parat. Add cup hot water and knead well. Pour 2 tbsps hot water and remaining oil and knead into a stiff dough. Cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside for 30 minutes. 2. To make the spice mix, combine red chilli powder, chaat masala, salt and powdered sugar in a small bowl. 3. Place the dough on a worktop, pound it with the help of a heavy pestle till the dough is soft and pliable.4. Divide the dough into small equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and transfer them in a bowl. Drizzle some oil and gently mix till each dough ball is covered with oil.5. Place a dough ball on a worktop and roll it out into a thin disc. Make vertical slits in the middle without cutting it through. 6. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the discs one at a time, deep fry till golden, puffed up, and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper. Sprinkle some spice mix over it.7. Allow to cool.
