Kanda Bhaji | Cooking With Archana | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Deep Fried Onion Fritters, Kanda Bhaji is a popular Mumbai Street food. These are crispy and delicious, prepared mainly with Onion and Gram Flour.

KANDA BHAJI

Ingredients

3 medium onions, sliced
3 tablespoons gram flour (besan)
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
1 teaspoon mix masala/ green chilli paste
ΒΌ teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
Oil for deep-frying
Dried garlic chutney for serving


Method

1. Mix together onions, salt, coriander leaves, mix masala and carom seeds in a mixing bowl. Add gram flour little by little to the mixture, mix till well incorporated.
2. Heat sufficient oil in a pan. Drop small amounts of the prepared mixture and deep-fry till golden-brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
3. Serve hot with dried garlic chutney.
