Jackfruit Wontons | कटहल के वाँटन्स | Jackfruit Recipes | Whats in Season | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Deliciously sweet and fragrant ripe jackfruit mixture stuffed in wontons and deep fried till golden and crisp. Dessert with a twist!

JACKFRUIT WONTONS

Ingredients

6-8 wonton sheets
½ cup scraped fresh coconut
½ cup finely chopped ripe jackfruit
¼ tsp green cardamom powder
A pinch of nutmeg powder
¼ cup chopped jaggery
2 tsps poppy seeds
Refined flour slurry for applying
Oil for deep frying

Method

1. Heat a non-stick pan. Add coconut, ripe jackfruit, green cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, jaggery, and 2 tbsps water and mix well. Cook till moisture is absorbed.
2. Transfer the mixture in a plate and allow to cool. Add poppy seeds and mix till well combined.
3. Stuff a wonton sheet with a portion of the prepared jackfruit mixture and apply some refined flour slurry on the edges and shape it into a wonton.
4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the wontons and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
5. Arrange on a serving plate and serve warm.
