Indian Masala Fish Curry Recipe | Super Easy And Delicious Fish Curry Recipe | Atima's Kitchen

Street style or Dhaba style food is one we crave sometimes. So to satiate that craving, I have made Masala Fish Curry. It is an easy-to-make recipe. For this recipe, I have taken 500 grams. bone-less pieces of Tengan [Sighada] fish. Though you can take any fresh-water big fish [with bone or boneless pieces]. Let’s start.

I have cleaned and towel-dried the fish for marination:-

For marination:-
1/2 tsp. Cumin Powder
1/2 tsp. Turmeric Powder
2 tsp. Coriander Powder
1 tsp. Ginger Garlic paste
1 tsp. Green Chilies, [Crushed]
1 tsp. Red Chili Powder
2 tbsp. Gram flour [Besan]
2 tsp. Lemon Juice
1 tbsp. Mustard Oil
Salt- According to your taste.
Add all ingredients and coat the fish well. Keep aside for 30 minutes.

For Gravy:-
2 nos. Onion [medium] [sliced]
2 nos. Red Tomatoes [medium] [sliced]
7-8 nos. Garlic cloves [Crushed]
1 inch Ginger [Chopped]
2 tbsp. Mustard Oil

Fry the onion slices till golden brown. Add Garlic-Ginger and fry. Add the tomatoes and fry till they are cooked and leave the oil. Keep aside and let it cool. Then grind it to a smooth paste.

For Seasoning and Garnishing:
1 tsp. Kasuri Methi
Dry roast fenugreek leaves and keeps them aside.
Coriander leaves – Chopped
And
1 tsp. Garam Masala

Process:-
Heat oil in a broad pan. Transfer the marinated fish to the pan and shallow fry on low-medium heat till one side is light brown. Flip and shallow fry the other side.
TIP : Do not flip over and over again, lest fish will break and become mushy.
After both the are fried, add the onion-tomatoes paste to the pan. Add water to desired consistency. Add Salt and cook on medium-low heat for 4-5 minutes. Stir very carefully.
Add Garam masala powder and fenugreek leaves.
Cover and shut down heat.

Garnish with green coriander and serve hot.
