I made a Gingerbread House vs. a PASTRY CHEF... | Raphael Gomes

So I actually tried baking a Christmas Gingerbread House vs. a professional baker. That's it. I don't have to tell you much more, I think you can guess the rest. I hope you like it, I know it's a different video than usual but hopefully it makes you a little bit more christmassy. Don't forget to subscribe before you go, thank you!

Claudia's Gingerbread Recipe:
75ml water
210g dark brown sugar
3 table spoons of golden syrup
3 table spoons of treacle
3 table spoons of ground cinnamon
3 table spoons of ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cloves
-
250g of cubed cold salted butter
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
560g of plain flour
-
This makes one gingerbread house of the size we made plus some decorations or around 20 large shapes / around 50 small shapes.
-
The gingerbread is baked at 200 degrees fan for
around 12-13 minutes ( baking time varies depending on size of the shapes)

Health and Safety note:
As I'm posting this video the health guidelines have changed in London as some of you might have heard. I just want to make sure everyone knows this was filmed a while ago and both me and Claudia work from home and were able to quarantine prior to filming. Please wear your masks and stay safe everyone. Merry Christmas!
