How to make UIROU | Japanese Traditional Wagashi Sweet Rice Cake (EP292) | Kitchen Princess Bamboo

Today I am going to be making UIROU.

UIROU is a traditional Japanese Wagashi, simply made with rice flour and sugar.

It's not stretchy like an authentic mochi but has a bouncy and chewy texture.

I make two layered UIROU to make it special.

It is so good and energizes your body.

2 of 15cm square mold
【White UIROU】bottom layer
160g Warabi-mochiko
80g rice flour (regular rice flour)
200g white sugar
480ml water

【Anko UIROU】top layer
160g rice flour
40g potato starch (or corn starch)
120g white sugar
520ml water
300g Anko (tsubu- an)
