How to make Jowar Pulao : Healthy & Yummy | Ananya Banerjee

A super healthy and tasty pulao recipe!

Jowar Pulao

Ingredients:

• 1 cup of Jowar (soaked overnight and pressure cooked to 5-6 whistles)
• 1 cup mixed vegetable Carrots, Beans, Peas, Cauliflower (Cut into small cubes)
• 1/2 cup of Onions, Sliced
• 1 tsp minced Garlic
• 1/2 tsp grated Ginger
• 2 tbsp of Ghee
• 1/2 tsp of Cumin seeds (Jeera)
• 1 Bay leaf
• 2 each of Cinnamon, Cardamom, Clove
• 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
• 1 cup Milk
• 2 Green chilies
• handful of Coriander leaves
• handful of Cashew and Raisins
• Salt to taste

Method:
1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add the bay leaf, cumin seeds, cinnamon, cardamom and clove, sauté for half a minute.
2. Add sliced onion and sauté till pink. Add grated ginger, garlic and further sauté till aromatic.
3. Add the vegetables and mix well. Saute for 2 minutes.
4. Add the boiled Jowar and mix well with the vegetables, add milk and salt mix well. Cover and cook till the vegetables are tender.
5. For Tadka: Heat oil in a tadka pan, add cashew & raisins. Add whole green chillies.
6. Now add this tadka to Jower Pulao mix well. Sprinkle Garam masala and garnish with Coriander leaves.
