How to Make Cold & Flu Elderberry Syrup | Divas Can Cook

❤️ SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/divascancookfan I adore natural home remedies so much! I honestly think they can be more potent and effective than the traditional means but hey, that’s just from my experience! Today I’m showing you how to make my go-to when it comes to stopping colds in their tracks, homemade elderberry syrup! I swear by this stuff y’all. If you’ve never heard of elderberry please spend some time googling the amazing, healing properties of this berry. It’s truly amazing and we’ve been using this homemade syrup for years in my house.

With back-to-school starting up soon, I figured now is the perfect time to introduce this recipe to you guys so that you can have it waiting in the fridge! You can add other things to this if you like, such as cinnamon, clove or ginger.

The normal dosage is 1 1/2 teaspoon for adults but I take 1 tablespoon at the sign of a cold and 1 tablespoon several times a day if a cold has set in. I do pretty good at catching my cold early though. I also give my kids 1 tablespoon. The ingredients are all food ingredients so I don’t worry about giving too much.

Some folks say when they are too much of elderberry it has a gentle laxative effect but I’ve never experience it. But hey if you’re looking for a natural laxative then a high dosage may be what you want!

BE SURE TO CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE USING AS ELDERBERRY CAN REACT WITH CERTAIN MEDICATIONS.

Enjoy!
