Everyone should learn how to make a delicious French toast breakfast. It's got your protein (with the egg), and carbohydrates (the bread), fat (the butter, yum) and sugar (maple syrup which makes it taste great).

This French toast is even good enough to eat without the syrup if you want, but I recommend it with the syrup. I have a sweet tooth!

Besides the bread, I think that the addition of vanilla and cinnamon really adds a little extra delicious flavor that can't be beat so don't leave it out.

Ingredients:
3 or 4 whole slices Oroweat Country Buttermilk Bread
3 eggs
1/2 to 1 tsp. vanilla extract
sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)
1 tsp. milk
1 to 2 Tbsp. real butter
real maple syrup
powdered sugar optional

Directions:
Slice your bread into rectangles. Use a fairly large bowl and add the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon and whisk like crazy for at least 1 minute.

Place your pan over medium heat. Add the butter to cover the entire bottom of the pan.

Once the butter starts to bubble (don't let it turn brown which means the heat is too high), place one to two pieces of bread in the egg mixture to soak for several seconds. Flip the bread over to soak on the second side.

Then place the bread into the frying pan. Continue soaking and placing the bread in the pan. Cook until the pieces are golden brown and then turn them over.

It's always a nice touch to heat your maple syrup and your plate (I forgot to show that) in the microwave to heat up. Putting your hot food on a hot plate keep your food hot longer. A good cook likes to serve hot food hot if he/she can! It's a nice little extra touch.

I love serving this with a few slices of bacon and maybe a little hot chocolate. What a breakfast!

Serve and eat immediately!
