How To Brine A Turkey

Ingredients

1 cup salt
1 tablespoon whole peppercorns
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
6 cloves garlic
1 gallon chicken broth
1 turkey


Instructions

1 00:00:07 - Prepare ingredients to brine turkey.

2 00:00:28 - Remove giblets from turkey.

3 00:00:53 - Trim excess skin and fat from turkey.

4 00:01:01 - In a large stockpot, heat chicken stock. Add salt, peppercorns, rosemary and garlic cloves. Stir and bring to a simmer.

5 00:01:35 - Cool brine completely by adding ice and let sit.

6 00:01:42 - Slide turkey into an XL ziplock bag, 5 gallon bucket, or clean large stockpot and add brine.

7 00:02:25 - Seal bag and let turkey brine overnight for about 24 hours in the fridge.
