Honey walnut prawns have the unusual combination of honey and walnut, resulting in an exquisite taste, and making the dish a must-try!

HONEY WALNUT PRAWNS

Ingredients

1½ tablespoons honey
8-10 walnuts
12-16 medium prawns, peeled and deveined
½ medium green capsicum, cut into ½ inch pieces
½ medium yellow capsicum, cut into ½ inch pieces
½ medium red capsicum, cut into ½ inch cubes pieces
6-7 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
1 teaspoon red chilli flakes
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon vinegar
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3-4 tablespoons oil
2-3 button chillies

Method

1. Heat a non-stick pan.
2. Mix together prawns, crushed peppercorns, ½ teaspoon chilli flakes, ½ teaspoon soy sauce, vinegar, salt and cornstarch in a bowl.
3. Put oil to hot pan. Add marinated prawns and shallow-fry till crisp and ¾ done. Drain on absorbent paper.
4. Add garlic and sauté till golden brown. Add button chillies, remaining chilli flakes, red capsicum, green capsicum and yellow capsicum and toss well.
5. Add walnuts and toss well.
6. Add 3-4 tablespoons water to the marinade bowl, mix well and add to prawns mixture. Reduce heat, add remaining soy sauce, honey and salt and mix well.
7. Serve hot.
