Healthy Jam Recipe Without Sugar Sugar Free Berry Jam Recipe

This video will show you how to make a sugar free berry jam recipe. A healthy jam can be made from a two ingredient sugar free berry jam recipe! You can make this with any berry, or even peeled stone fruits like plums or peaches. The basic formula for this chia seed jam is 2 cups fruit (cut up if it's not small pieces) plus 1 tablespoon chia seeds. From there you can have a few add ins if you like, but that's all that's necessary. The natural sugars in the fruit should suffice but if you're still detoxing from sugar then at least use a natural sweetener like honey. Here's a recipe where I added in a bit of lemon and ginger to my blueberry jam to give it a little anti-inflammatory bonus.

2 cups fresh (or frozen) blueberries
1.5 teaspoons finely grated fresh ginger (or ginger paste)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Add the berries into a saucepan along with the grated ginger. Turn to medium heat and begin to mash the berries with a fork. Once the berries are mostly mashed, stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
Allow the mixture to boil for 10 - 15 seconds, then remove from the heat and stir in chia seeds.
Transfer into a glass jar and allow it to cool completely. Enjoy immediately or store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Using frozen fruit may result in a waterier jam. If this happens add a little bit more chia seeds, stir and wait at least 15 minutes to see if the consistency is to your liking.
