The Gujarati Haandvo is a popular dish sampled with tea or coffee during noon snacks. Have it with Chutney and it can also be an ideal dinner snack!Ingredients: 100 gm Udad Dal100 gm Moong Dal100 gm Chana Dal100 gm Tuvar Dal300 gm Rice200 gm grated Doodhi (Lauki/Bottle Gourd)100 gm Curd (Yoghurt)1/2 tsp. Turmeric1/2 tsp. Red Chili Powder1/2 tsp Asafoetida1/2 tsp. Eno1/2 tsp. Mustard Seeds1 tsp. Chili-Ginger Paste Water for soaking 4-5 tbsp. Oil for fryingSalt to tasteGrated Coconut, Sesame Seeds and Coriander for garnishing Method: 1. Grind all the dal and rice to form a coarse batter.2. Add the curd and lukewarm water to this batter and mix well. Leave overnight for fermenting. On the next day:1. Add the grated doodhi and all spices with seasoning.2. Heat the oil and mustard seeds in a large pan or Haandva maker until it crackles.3.Pour the batter into the pan and place the lid. Let the batter cook for 40-50 minutes at a low flame.
