How to make Matar Paneer Pulao 

Ingredients:

Frozen green peas/fresh green peas - ½ cup

Chopped paneer - ½ cup

Basmati rice - 1 cup

Chopped onions - ½ cup

Chopped capsicum ¼ cup

Grated ginger - 1 tsp

Chopped garlic - 1 tsp

Kashmiri chilli powder - ½ tsp

Kitchen King masala - 1 tsp

Tomato paste/Tomato puree ¼ cup

Oil - as required

Cumin seeds/jeera - 1 tsp

Cloves - 4 or 5

Cinnamon stick - ½ inch

Star anise - ½ of it

Salt to taste

Method:

Wash and soak Basmati rice for 1 hour

Then, heat oil in a thick pan

Splutter jeera

Then add cloves, cinnamon, star anise and bay leaf - stir fry

Now, add the chopped garlic, grated ginger, chopped onions and saute till onions are golden

Now, add the tomato paste and stir fry

Add the kashmiri chilli powder and saute

Now chopped paneer and capsicum - stir

Add the frozen green peas and toss

Now add the measured and soaked water from rice to the pan

Allow everything to boil together

Add salt and Kitchen King Masala

Now, add the Basmati rice, mix everything lightly and close tightly with a lid

Reduce the flame to medium low and cook for 10 or 12 mins or till rice is done

One can check in between the 10 or 12 mins by opening the lid and tossing lightly with a fork

Serve the yummy Matar Paneer Pulao with any Raitha of choice
