Gourmet Chicken Burger Food on Budget Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

As gourmet as it gets. Made with patties stuffed with cheese and the caramelised onions make the burgers moist, juicy and bursting with flavours.

GOURMET CHICKEN BURGER

Ingredients

300 grams chicken mince (keema)
4 burger buns
Caramelized onions
1 tbsp oil
2 large onions, sliced
Salt to taste
1 tbsps sugar
1 tsp soy sauce
Sauce
cup mayonnaise
1 tsp mustard paste
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp red chili sauce
1 tsp red chilli flakes
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
Patty
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp garlic
1 green chili, finely chopped
1 large onion, finely chopped
Salt to taste
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp red chilli flakes
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
1 tsp red chilli powder
cup dried breadcrumbs
1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
1 egg
1 cup grated processed cheese
4 cheese slices
Few lettuces leave
1 large tomato, cut into slices
4-5 tbsps oil

Method

1. To make caramelized onions, heat oil in a shallow pan. Add onions, mix and cook till golden brown.
2. Add salt, sugar and mix well. Cook till the sugar melts and the mixture brown. Add soy sauce and mix. Cook for 30 seconds.
3. Switch the heat off, transfer the mixture on a plate and allow to cool completely.
4. To make the sauce, take mayonnaise in a bowl. Add mustard paste, tomato ketchup, red chilli sauce, red chili flakes and dried mixed herbs and mix till well combined.
5. To make the burger patty, heat oil and butter in another shallow pan. Add garlic, green chilli and saut for 1 minute. Add onion and saut till translucent.
6. Add in the salt, sugar and mix well. Switch the heat off and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
7. Take chicken mince in a large bowl, add red chilli flakes, dried mixed herbs, red chilli powder, the prepared onion mixture, dried breadcrumbs and mix till well combined.
8. Add coriander leaves, break the egg directly into it and mix well. Grease your palm with some oil and take a portion of the mixture. Make cavity in the center and stuff it with a portion of the cheese. Bring the sides to the center and roll it into a ball. Gently press to shape it like a patty.
9. Cut the burger buns in half.
10. Heat oil in yet another shallow pan, place the patties into the hot oil, cook for 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes as well.
11. Place a cheese slice over each patty. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 30 seconds or till the cheese melts. Remove the lid and gently transfer the patty on a plate.
12. In the same pan, toast the burger buns for a few seconds.
13. To make the burger, apply some sauce on the base of a burger bun. Arrange a few lettuce leaves, place a patty over it, arrange some tomato slices, and add a portion of the caramelized onion. Apply some sauce on the remaining half of the burger bun and cover the burger. Serve immediately.
