Godila curry

Godila curry is made on the last day if chhath puja after morning Arghya ...

Horse Gram - 2 Cup
water 3 cups
black cardamom - 2 no
cinnamon stick - ½ Inch
green cardamom 2-3 + 3-4 no
salt ½ Tsp + to taste
mustard oil 2-3 Tbsp
cumin seeds ½ Tsp
crushed peppercorns 8-10 no
onion chopped 2 medium.
Ginger garlic paste 1 Tbsp
coriander seeds 2 tsp
bay leaf 2-3 No
Tomato chopped 1 large
turmeric powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
red chili powder ½ tsp
garam masala powder ½ tsp
Ghee 1 tbsp
Cream ¼ Cup
coriander chopped 1 tbsp

Method
Soak chana over-night and keep aside.
Heat a pressure cooker and add the channa and 3 cups of water.
In a mortar pestle add green cardamom, black cardamom, cinnamon stick, and crush little. Add this to the pressure cooker.
add salt and pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.
Mean while heat mustard oil in a pan, add cumin seeds.
In a mortar pestle add peppercorns and crush little ,and add in pan.
onion chopped. and sauté till onions brown.
add ginger garlic paste , and sauté for 1-2 mins.
in a mortar pestle add coriander seeds, and crush a little,
and add in pan.
add bay leaves, tomatoes, and sauté for 3-4 mins.
Strain the chana and blend in a blender to a coarse paste, by adding water as needed.
keep this mixture aside.
take a small bowl add, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and little water and mix well.
add spice mixture to the gravy.
add ghee and mix well
Crush 3-4 green cardamom and add to the mixture.
add the chana paste and mix well.
add salt and mix well.
Cover and cook for 5-10 mins
mix well and add cream and mix well.
add coriander chopped and mix well.
transfer to a serving bowl.
garish with cream, green chilli slit, lemon wedge and serve hot.
