Sponge gourd cut into small pieces, dipped into gram flour batter and deep-fried to perfection!GHOSALYACHI BHAJIIngredients250 grams sponge gourd (ghosal/toorai)1½ cups gram flour (besan)¼ tsp red chilli powder¼ tsp turmeric powderSalt to taste2 tbsps hot oil + for deep fryingMethod1. Trim the head of ghosalya and cut them into roundels.2. Take gram flour in a large bowl, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and ½ cup water and mix to form a smooth batter of coating consistency. 3. Add 2 tbsps hot oil, mix and add the pointed gourd roundels.4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, coat each roundel with the batter and slide into the hot oil. Deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.5.
