Gheun Loat na Thula (Steamed Wheat Pattice) | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Pattice made of wheat, steamed to perfection. A unique recipe from the Jain cuisine.

GHEUN LOAT NA THULA (STEAMED WHEAT PATTICE)

Ingredients

¼ cup wheat flour (gheun loat)
¼ cup gram flour
2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
¼ teaspoon asafoetida
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves
1 teaspoon oil
Ghee for serving

Method

1. Heat sufficient water in a steamer
2. Mix wheat flour and gram flour in a bowl, add green chillies, asafoetida, salt, red chilli powder, coriander leaves and oil and mix well. Add required water and knead into a soft dough.
3. Divide the dough into equal portions, shape them into balls, flatten and make a dent in the center. Place the prepared thula in hot steamer and steam for 10-15 minutes.
4. Serve hot with ghee.
