Gehoon ki kheer (Broken wheat Indian Dessert) | chefharpalsingh

This broken wheat dessert is healthy and tasty, good for everyone. This is a perfect festive recipe specially eaten during harvest festival in Punjab.

Gehoon ki kheer (Broken Rice Indian Dessert) Recipe

Ingredients

Ghee 1 1/2tbsp
Chopped pistachio 6-8
Grated dried coconut 2 tbsp
Milk 1 liter
Broken wheat soaked and boiled 1 cup
Seedless dates finely chopped 5-6
Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
Green cardamom powder ½ tsp
Nutmeg powder Pinch
Grated jaggery ¾ cup
Almond slice 4-5
Cashewnut chopped 4-5

Method

1.Heat ghee in a pan add in the chopped pistachio, almond, cashewnut, datesand sauté well.

2.Now add in dried and sauté until browned.

3.Add in the, broken wheat and saute for 1-2 mints . Now add in the milk and mix until all the lumps are remove.

4.Now add in the poppy seeds, cardamom powder, nutmeg. Cook until thickens. Switch off the flame

5.Add in the Jaggery and mix well. remove it in a serving bowl garnish with nuts cool it and serve warm or cold.
