Funnel Cake With Salt And Chocolate | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

FUNNEL CAKE WITH SALT AND CHOCOLATE

Ingredients

2 teaspoons + a pinch salt
½ cup chopped dark chocolate
1 cup milk
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons whisky
1 cups refined flour
½ cup fresh cream
2 tablespoons butter
Oil for deep-frying

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180° C.
2. Take milk in a bowl. Break in egg and add baking powder, whisky, 2 teaspoons salt and flour and whisk well to make a smooth batter.
3. Heat cream in a non-stick pan. Add butter and mix. Add a pinch salt and bring the mixture to boil. Add chocolate and mix till it melts. This is chocolate sauce.
4. Heat sufficient oil in a pan
5. Fill a squeezy bottle with prepared milk mixture.
6. Drizzle the batter directly into the hot oil to make medium discs and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
7. Fill a piping bag with chocolate sauce.
8. Place fennel cake in a serving platter, pipe out on top and serve immediately.
