Preparation Time: 10 minutes. Cooking Time: 12 minutes. Serves:4. 2 cups stringed and diagonally cut French beans1½ tsp oil½ tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)1 tsp soaked urad dal (split black lentils)2 tbsp soaked chana dal (split Bengal gram)4 to 6 curry leaves (kadi patta)¼ tsp asafoetida (hing)2 slit green chilliesSalt to taste¼ cup grated coconut2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)1. Heat the oil and add the mustard seeds. 2. When the seeds crackle, add the urad dal and chana dal , curry leaves, asafoetida and green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds 3. Add the French beans, salt and 2 tbsp of water, mix well and cover and cook on a slow flame for 10 minutes, while stirring occasionally.4. Add the coconut and coriander, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally. Serve hot.
