Foraging Mushrooms UK - False Chanterelle (Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca)

Through this video, we're going to take a look at how we can all safely identify the false chanterelle mushroom.

These Wild Mushrooms can be foraged in plenty of different woodland locations and are often found growing in the mid-season, around the time when we find the true chanterelle. It's definitely worth getting used to this one to ensure you don't accidentally pick it thinking it's a chanterelle / girolle.

This mushroom is something we come across all of the time, probably more often than we come across the true chanterelle, without the two mushrooms together, if you hadn't foraged either before, there is a chance you could mistake them for each other.

If you're going to head out and forage for chanterelle then you definitely need to learn the details and differences of the false chanterelle so we can feel totally confident in what we've picked.
