This episode kicks off at the top of Te Wāi Pounamu, the South Island. This part of the country, is famous for mussel farming, we take you to Havelock a town which revolves around Greenshell or green lipped mussels, for a feed of freshly shucked raw mussels before chowing down on burgers at New Zealand’s oldest pub, the Moutere Inn.

Aotearoa New Zealand’s cuisine revolves around the land and oceans and the fresh food food it provides. 1. Mussels at Mills Bay Mussels, 23a Inglis Street, Havelock 7100. Open Thursday to Sunday 10:00am to 2:00pm.

2. Burgers and beers at Moutere Inn, 1406 Moutere Highway, Upper Moutere 7175. Open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 12:00pm to 9:00pm and Thursday and Friday 12:00pm to 10:00pm.
