Durian Coffee - Glory or Gag? | Mark Wiens

One of my friend's in Bangkok had a couple bags of durian coffee in his house, so when he offered me one, I simply could not resist my curiosity. What could be more bizarre, strange, and tempting than the world's finest beverages mingled with the world's most exotic and delicious fruit?

So here's a quick video of instant durian coffee, which is produced in Malaysia. After drinking this durian coffee and searching around, I have heard of other similar beverages. For instance there's a durian latte apparently available at Paragon in Bangkok and there's also a coffee shop in the Philippines that serves durian coffee, though I've heard it's not strong enough.

The durian coffee in the instant packet was alright. I could really taste the flavor of the durian and it even remained in my burps for multiple hours following. The thing I didn't like about it is that I'm simply not a fan of instant milky sweet coffee. So I think next in order would be a freshly brewed cup of coffee with some fresh durian mixed in!

What do you think? Durian coffee for you?
