Bombay Karachi Halwa or Corn Flour Halwa is a soft and Glossy Halwa made from four basic ingredients, Corn flour, ghee(clarified butter), sugar and water. This halwa has a soft texture unlike other halwas which are chewy in texture. Because of its soft and Jelly like texture, this Halwa is also known as Indian Jelly Halwa in some parts of India. The soft texture of this Bombay Karachi halwa is determined by choosing the right corn flour, sugar syrup consistency and the duration of cooking.

The corn flour used in making Bombay Karachi Halwa is white corn flour (fine variety). In India, white colored corn flour is generally called as corn flour. if you are living in America or European countries, you can use corn starch to prepare this Corn Flour Halwa. I had used chopped almonds and cashews for garnishing, you can add any nuts of your choice though.

Be generous while adding Ghee. You will need to add it till it absorbs.
Always use Non-Stick Pan or Kadai as it helps to stir easily.
If you need very soft texture, switch off the flame few minutes early than usual.
