DALIA PORRIDGE

Ingredients

1 cup broken wheat (jada dalia)
1 tbsp ghee
5-6 seedless dates, soaked for 1 hour
1 tbsp cashewnut powder
2-3 tbsp honey
1 cup milk
1 medium apple, chopped
Fresh mint sprig for garnish

Method

1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add broken wheat sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add 4 cups water, cover and cook till 4-5 whistles are released.
2. Open the cooker once the pressure is reduced completely. Add seedless dates, cashewnut powder, honey and blend with the help of hand blender to a coarse mixture.
3. Add milk and mix well and cook for a minute on medium heat. Transfer into serving bowl.
4. Top up with apple and garnish with mint sprig. Serve warm.
