Dal and Suji Tikki | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Lentil and Semolina Cutlets make a delicious snack any time of the day! Follow this easy recipe to make these tasty treats.

DAL AND SUJI TIKKI

Ingredients

½ cup leftover cookedchanadal
Semolina (suji) for coating
2 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
½ teaspoon garam masala powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
Salt to taste
½ cup fresh breadcrumbs
Oil for shallow-frying

Method

1. Take dal in a bowl. Add potatoes, chopped coriander, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt and mix well.
2. Add some breadcrumbs, knead into a dough and set aside for 5 minutes. Divide the mixture into equal portion and shape them into tikkis.
3. Take semolina onto a plate and coat each tikki.
4. Heat some oil on a non-stick tawa. Place each tikki and cook evenly from both sides till golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
5. Serve hot.

Preparation Time: 3-5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10-12 minutes
