Dahi Wahi Aloo | Recipes Under 15 Minutes | Chef Jaaie | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Dahi Wale Aloo are potatoes cooked in a spicy yogurt gravy, its creamy texture and melt in your mouth potatoes stealing the show.

DAHI WALE ALOO - (Serves - 4)

Ingredients

4 medium potatoes (aloo), boiled and peeled
¼ cup yogurt (dahi)
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
A pinch sugar
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
2 green chillies, roughly chopped
¼ teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
3-4 fresh coriander sprigs, chopped + for garnishing

Method

1. Mash the potatoes in a bowl. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, sugar and salt and mix well.
2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté till it changes colour. Add green chillies and asafoetida and sauté.
3. Add mashed potato mixture and mix. Add ¾ cup water and mix well.
4. Reduce heat, add chopped coriander sprigs, mix, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove the pan from heat and set aside for 5 minutes to cool.
5. Add yogurt and mix well.
6. Serve hot garnished with a coriander sprig.
