Dahi Chana Chaat Recipe In English:
Ingredients for chana chaat:
Oil 1 ½ tbsp
Onion (chopped) 1 cup
Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tbsp
Green chilies (chopped) 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Chaat masala 1 tbsp
Red chili sauce 2 tbsp
Sweet chili sauce 3 tbsp
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Water as required
Chickpea (boiled) 1 cup
Curry masala 2 tbsp
Ingredients for tamarind date chutney:
Tamarind pulp 1 cup
Red chili flakes 1 tbsp
Brown sugar 1 ½ tbsp
Salt to taste
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Sugar 1 tbsp
Dates (deseed) 4-5
Water as required
Mint leaves (fresh) 1/4 cup
Ingredients for assembling:
Kurkure as topping
Potatoes (boiled & diced) as required
Onion (diced) as required
Tomatoes (chopped) as required
Chaat masala for sprinkle
Green sauce 2 tbsp
Yogurt 1/2 cup
Green chilies (chopped) for garnish
Chickpea (boiled) for garnish
Directions for chana chaat:
Heat oil in a pan, add onion and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until translucent.
Then add ginger garlic paste, green chilies, salt, chaat masala, red chili sauce, sweet chili sauce, lemon juice and mix it well.
Add water as required, boiled chickpea, curry masala and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
Your chana chaat is ready. Set aside.
Directions for tamarind date chutney:
In a pan add tamarind pulp, chili flakes, brown sugar, salt, cumin powder and sugar.
Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes, then add dates and mix it well.
Add the mixture in blender, add mint leaves and blend until you get a smooth paste.
Your tamarind date chutney is ready. Set aside.
Assembling:
In a plate add prepared chana chaat, top it with onion, potatoes and tomatoes.
Sprinkle chaat masala, drizzle tamarind date chutney, green sauce and yogurt on top.
Garnish it with chickpeas, tomatoes and green chilies.
Lastly add Kurkure on top to add extra crunch in your chaat.
Tasty spicy chana chaat is ready to serve.
