दडपे पोहे | Dadpe Pohe | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

The authentic Mahatrashtrian snack, dadpe pohe, offers crunch and burst of flavours in every bite. Made using flattened rice, this recipe is ready with minutes!

DADPE POHE

Ingredients

3 cups pressed rice (poha)
2 tbsps oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
¼ tsp asafoetida (hing)
2 green chillies, finely chopped
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 tsp methkut
Salt to taste
1 tsp sugar
2 tsps lemon juice
2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves
¼ cup scraped fresh coconut
2 fried red chillies
Fresh coriander sprig for garnish

Method

1. Heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add asafoetida and mix well. Add green chillies, turmeric powder, and mix. Cook for 1 minute.
2. Take pressed rice in a large plate. Add the prepared tempering over it. Add onion, methkut, salt, sugar, lemon juice, coriander leaves and coconut and mix till well combined. Cover and set aside for 25-30 minutes.
3. Break the fried red chillies into small pieces and add into the prepared mixture and mix well.
4. Transfer into a serving bowl. Serve garnished with corianders sprig.
