Daal Mash Chicken

Ingredients for Boiled Daal:
Water 7-8 cups
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Daal mash (black lentil skinless soaked) 3 cups

Ingredients for Daal Mash Chicken:
Oil 1/4 cup
Onion paste 1 cup
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Chicken 1 kg
Tomato (sliced) 1 cup
Coriander powder 1 tbsp
Red chili powder 2 tbsp
Black pepper crushed 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Water 1 cup
Boiled daal
Reserved water 1 cup
Green coriander (chopped) as required
Green chilies (sliced) as required

Directions for Boiled Daal Preparation:
1. In a pot heat water and add turmeric powder and daal mash and boil until 80% done. Remove the scum while boiling. Reserve the daal water for later use. Set aside.
Directions for Daal Mash Chicken Preparation:
2. In a pot heat oil and add onion paste. Cook for a minute. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for 1-2 mins.
3. Add chicken and cook until chicken changes color.
4. Add tomatoes, coriander powder, red chili powder, black pepper crushed, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt and cook for 3-4 mins.
5. Add water and cover and cook for 10-15 mins.
6. Now add boiled daal and reserved water. Cover and cook for 5-10 mins.
7. Now dish it out and garnish it with green coriander and green chilies. Your Dal Mash Chicken is ready. Serve and enjoy.
