Crunchy Honey Chicken | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Batter fried chicken strips tossed in sweet honey sauce.

CRUCHY HONEY CHICKEN

Ingredients

2-3 tablespoons honey + for drizzling
250 grams boneless chicken, cut into strips
2 tablespoons chopped garlic
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
1 teaspoon red chilli flakes
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
1 egg
¼ cup refined flour
¼ cup breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
Oil for deep-frying
4-5 stalks spring onion greens, finely chopped

Method

1. Take chicken strips in a bowl. Add garlic, salt, crushed peppercorns, chilli flakes, soy sauce and egg and mix well. Set aside for 15-20 minutes.
2. Combine flour, breadcrumbs, crushed peppercorns, onion powder, garlic powder and salt in another bowl. Mix well.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
4. Coat the chicken strips in the flour mixture and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
5. Transfer the fried chicken into a bowl. Add honey. Reserve some of the spring onion greens and add the remaining, toss to mix.
6. Garnish with reserved spring onion greens, drizzle some honey and serve immediately.

Preparation Time: 25-30 minutes
Cooking Time: 10-15 minutes
