बनायें मीठे में कलाकंद और क्रैनबेरी की बर्फी | Cranberry Mawa Burfi & Kalakand | FoodFood

We bring to you two beautiful recipes of Kalakand and Cranberry Barfi that you can enjoy with your family and friends this Diwali.


KALAKAND

Ingredients: :
2 litres full fat milk
¼ teaspoon alum (phitkari), crushed
4 tablespoons sugar
½ tablespoon ghee
Decoration
Mix dry fruits powder
silver varq

Method:
1. Boil the milk in a large, thick-bottomed kadai till it thickens slightly. Add the alum (phitkari) to the thickened milk and stir continuously till the milk becomes grainy. Cook till most of the moisture evaporates and a solid mass remains.
2. Add the sugar and mix well. Cook for five or ten minutes longer till the mixture thickens again.
3. Grease an aluminium tray with ghee. Pour the milk mixture into the tray and level the surface. Sprinkle some dry fruit powder and Leave to set for a few hours in a cool, dry place.
4. When completely set, decorate with silver varq and cut into squares or diamonds.and serve

CRANBERRY MAWA BURFI

Ingredients:
½ cup dried cranberries + for garnish
400 grams mawa
2 tbsps ghee
1 cup powdered sugar
¼ tsp green cardamom powder
10-12 pistachios, blanched and slivered
1 tbsp dried rose petals
Silver varq for garnish

Method:
1. Grate mawa in a plate. Heat ghee in a nonstick pan. Add grated mawa and sauté for 3-4 minutes on low heat.
2. Add powdered sugar and mix well. Cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes or till sugar melts.
3. Add dried cranberries and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add green cardamom powder and mix well.
5. Transfer in a greased burfi tray. Sprinkle pistachios, dried rose pets and dried cranberries and allow to set for 1-2 hours.
6. Garnish with silver varq, cut into squares and serve.
