Cooking With Impaired Vision Southern-Style Beans and Rice NYT Cooking

Meet Christine Joy, a social worker and home chef who lives in Philadelphia. When she was 11 years old, doctors told her she was legally blind due to macular degeneration, an eye disease that impairs Christines vision. As an adult, Christine uses what she calls sensory cooking in the kitchen, relying on her other senses to guide her as she makes her grandmothers Southern-style lima beans and rice.
